Always a popular attraction this branch of equestrian sport consists of very fast races, exciting for participants and spectators alike, performed by excellent riders on well-trained ponies. They require a high degree of athletic ability, good riding skills, hand-to-eye coordination, general determination to see things through to the end no matter what, and a competitive spirit which nevertheless requires an ability to work together with other riders and a willingness to help one another.
The games are played by teams, pairs or individuals. Whichever format is chosen, the same general rules apply: no whips, no spurs, no bad or un-sporting behaviour. Come cheer on your county’s team as they
The Grand Parade is the traditional procession of all the livestock and heavy horse winners into the centre ring to collect their trophies. It is a good opportunity to see many different breeds of animal, often some of the best examples in the country.
An additional attraction this year, a different musical ride or quadrille will take place each day in Ring Two. The Musical Ride fills the ring with movement, children ride horses in circles and straight lines and formations in rhythm to music. This display also teaches the riders to consider others in the ride and so learn to work as part of a team.

Food & Farming
The Sheep Show - Edu-tainment at its bestThe Sheepshow is a fun and educational live show of sheep breeds and shearing. It is seen at numerous outdoor events throughout the year from the North of Scotland to Cornwall and even Northern Ireland and is fun for all ages. It is both entertaining and educational and is set on the back of a 40’ stage trailer where the sheep are introduced on to the stage ".It’s a bit like Miss World in sheep" says New Zealander Richard Savory who owns and operates the show from their farm in Norfolk.
The sheep ,with names like Nobby the Norfolk horn and Susie the Southdown are clapped onto the stage where they stand on their podiums for the 30 minute show ,there is then a well commentated shearing demonstration showing how you get wool from the sheep’s back to a jumper to wear. "Don’t miss The Sheepshow shuffle". Yes, dancing sheep!
“Great fun, brilliantly presented and what great sheep.”
“Still talking about the dancing sheep and it’s 5 days later.”
The Murmuring Wheel GroupNow you know which sheep are which, and where wool comes from why not walk next door the the murmuring wheel group and see how a raw fleece is turned into a blanket, scarf or jumper.
