Book of The Bakewell Show

The Book of Bakewell Show, known as The Little Royal traces the history of Bakewell Agricultural and Horticultural Society and Bakewell Show using historical anecdotes gathered from news cuttings, catalogues and original documents, as well as the personal recollections of people who have been involved over the years.

A fascinating insight is given into the decisions which have shaped the show and helped make it an event with its own special rural charm, one to which visitors from all over the country are drawn on the first Wednesday and Thursday of August.

Containing over 150 photographs dating from the war years to the shows staged in more recent times, this unique volume makes intriguing reading for anyone with an interest in agriculture or simply in the area of Bakewell and the local communities, for whom this annual event has become so important.
