There are a range of children’s classes, enabling children to enter and exhibit at Bakewell Show.
Children exhibiting in any class get in free and are entitled to a free parent ticket as well.

Tickets are issued when the entry is submitted on the Showground. All classes have different age and entry requirements.

Let us guide you around the Showground to our amazing family activities!
Children participating need to locate flags around the Showground
and answer the question under each flag - after filling in the answers
on the passport simply return the form to the Show office for a stamp and rosette.
Completed forms will be entered into a prize draw to win a Samsung
Galaxy Tablet A6 courtesy of our friends at Central Technology Chesterfield.

White Post Farm petting zoo - get up close and personal with animals and reptiles, plus participate in free craft sessions.
Knowles’ Dairy Show - learn about vintage dairy from the 1940s to the 1960s. This educational display gives an insight into how milk was produced and the tools, gadgets and veterinary medicines used by farmers.
'Hook a duck’ with a mini digger courtesy of Barry Wood Plant Hire.
Vintage vehicle parade - centre ring, weather permitting. Stunning examples of cars, tractors and motorbikes will be on display at the first parade of its kind at the Show.
Chainsaw carver - marvel at our carver at work creating a commemorative bench that will remain by the riverside for all to enjoy.
Meet farm animals - brought by exhibitors including horses, cattle, sheep, goats, rabbits, pigeons and poultry in the Agricultural Centre and our marquees. Also keep your eyes peeled for Valais Blacknose Sheep (the cutest in the world!) and alpacas!
The Children’s Zone - including the beach, Punch & Judy shows, donkey rides (small fee), fairground rides, circus skills workshops, zip wires, climbing walls and more.
Anglers’ Rest - learn to fly fish during a free lesson on the beautiful River Wye.
Horticulture marquee - see some incredible flowers, fruits and vegetables, plus view the winning ‘Star-crow’ scarecrows from our competition with Peak FM.
Companion charity dog show - join in with your four-legged friend on the dog field and help raise money for a local animal charity, running both main Show days.
Equine displays - all three days including fast-paced scurry driving and mounted games that are great fun to watch!
Parade of hounds - climb into centre ring at the end of the parade to meet some friendly canines!
